As part of the StartClim research programme, projects are being awarded for the 19th time in 2021. Innovative projects are supported that address current questions relating to the national adaptation strategy.

The submission deadline for project proposals runs from 30 April to 14 June 2021 at 12:00.

The research questions of StartClim2021/22 are structured into seven thematic blocks:

• Cost-optimal reduction pathway
• Lessons from the COVID-19 crisis for climate protection and climate change adaptation in Austria
• Conflicts of objectives and land use in spatial planning
• Climate change: action and engagement
• Biodiversity and climate change
• Ecosystems and tourism
• Green spaces and water demand
