State Prize for Climate Change Adaptation: Submit your project by 17 November 2025!


In March 2026, the "CliA – Austrian State Prize for Climate Change Adaptation" will be awarded for the second time - municipalities, businesses, research institutions and other organisations can still apply in four categories until 17 November 2025 (12:00).

With "CliA – Austrian State Prize for Climate Change Adaptation", those actors who have successfully implemented climate change adaptation measures are once again being brought into the spotlight and recognised. These exemplary projects are meant to encourage others to implement their own climate change adaptation initiatives. The state prize is awarded by the Ministry of Environment and Climate (BMLUK) in cooperation with the Climate and Energy Fund and is supported by the Environment Agency Austria. CliA, the State Prize for Climate Change Adaptation, is supported by the Raiffeisen Sustainability Initiative. The state prize is endowed with €5,000 for first place, €3,000 for second place and €1,000 for third place.
 
The prize is awarded in four categories:

  1. Flooding / Heavy rainfall
  2. Heat / Drought
  3. Adaptation to the impacts of climate change in businesses
  4. Research / Innovative Tools & Methods
