The board of the Austrian climate research network CCCA is pleased to note that the Federal Chancellor is now engaging substantively with the climate debate. This opens the door to a discussion on the actual issues at hand. However, his remarks yesterday regarding the climate crisis are, for example, at odds with the international and national scientific studies available to us. These make it clear that technology and innovation alone cannot resolve the climate crisis — social innovation and, above all, appropriate political and legal frameworks are also needed.
