Submit now for the Upper Austrian State Prize for Environment and Sustainability – for the first time as a Climate Challenge for future-proof climate ideas

One idea better, one step ahead! The State of Upper Austria is launching the State Prize for Environment and Sustainability, which in 2021 will for the first time take the form of a Climate Challenge for future-proof climate ideas.

At the Upper Austrian Climate Challenge, innovative thinkers have the unique opportunity to present their ideas and initiatives for a climate-friendly way of life to a high-profile jury. The winners will receive not only recognition in the form of the official State Prize certificate, but real support to move their ideas and visions that decisive step forward:

In addition to €30,000 in total prize money, the State of Upper Austria is also offering mentoring for the prize winners. Experts from science, business, social affairs and the arts will help the winning projects get off the ground through advice and networking with potential partners. The State of Upper Austria aims to help innovative pilot projects that have already been implemented on a small scale to grow and spread.

The high-calibre personal committee consists of DI Michael Altrichter (sustainability investor and business angel), Mag.a Stefanie Christina Huber (Chair of the Board of Oberösterreichische Sparkasse), Mag.a Doris Hummer (President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce), Univ.-Prof. Dr. Meinhard Lukas (Rector, JKU Linz), Elfriede Schober (Vice-President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labour), FH-Prof. DSA MMag. Dr. Christian Stark (Dean, FH Linz) and Mag. Dr. Alfred Weidinger (Managing Director, Oö. Kultur GmbH).
