At the Summer University "Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems (AEMS, 5 ECTS)", from 13 to 31 July 2026, international participants from all fields of study explore the limits of growth and the instabilities of our financial system, and learn why a drastic systemic shift is necessary to stabilise the world's climate — and above all: they get to know and discuss a range of alternative approaches with the group and with experts. Topics introduced include, for example, the Economy for the Common Good, Ethical Banking, Democratic Banking, Doughnut Economics, Sovereign Money and many more.
The Summer University "Green.Building.Solutions. (GBS; 7 ECTS)", from 13 July to 1 August 2026, provides subject-specific content on sustainable architecture and ecological construction in close exchange with experts. The programme is aimed at students and professionals from architecture, planning and engineering. The interdisciplinary programme includes a series of lectures and excursions, as well as a final project based on a real design.
This year, the programmes welcomed 103 participants from 48 nations — link to the review!
Both will be held again next year in Vienna at BOKU and TU Wien respectively!
