The German Ethics Council has today published its statement on climate justice

Tackling climate change raises serious questions about justice and responsibility. The analysis focuses on three dimensions of climate justice: the intra-societal, international and intergenerational dimension. Burdens and responsibilities must be distributed fairly across these dimensions.

In its statement, the German Ethics Council develops a concept of justice that aims to distribute burdens and responsibilities in such a way that the minimum conditions for a good, flourishing life are met both now and in the future. Building on this, the Ethics Council addresses key questions about responsibility in the context of climate change and sets out recommendations.
