The Austrian State Prize for climate change adaptation is awarded annually. It was established to highlight the importance of adaptation as the second pillar of climate policy. As the highest state distinction, it puts exemplary adaptation projects in the spotlight and aims to honour those actors who play a pioneering role in climate adaptation.
The prize is supported by the Federal Minister for climate protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) and the Climate and Energy Fund.
This year's 2024 winning projects were selected on 16 October 2024. They were each determined by a jury and a public vote. In the Special Category Research, the decision was made by the jury alone.
