Health promotion and sustainability: thought together – brought together.
Health and sustainability cannot be thought about, conceived, or lived separately — they go hand in hand. For the sustainable development of health, it is essential to bring together a healthy environment and systematic health promotion within a single concept, and to connect the areas of economic, ecological, and social development.
Conference date and venue
The 4th conference of the Network of Health-Promoting Universities Austria will take place from
19 to 20 September 2022 at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU).
The conference aims to stimulate discourse and discussion, as well as to share pathways and initiatives, concepts, visions and best practice examples of how we can all live healthier and more sustainably, and how these efforts impact the relevant environments.

Your visions, contributions, concepts and examples on the topic of health promotion and sustainability are welcome and will be an inspiration to us all.
Call for Abstracts / Posters until 15 July 2022: contributions can be submitted for the following five sessions
- Transformation, further development and adaptation
- Movement and mobility
- Limits to growth: nutrition and consumption
- Humans and nature
- Cooperation as a key element for inter- and transdisciplinary activities
A special call goes out for student work / contributions from students.
