University Course "Sustainable Construction"

Build on our knowledge
The construction sector is considered one of the largest individual sources of greenhouse gases and therefore has great potential in the fight against the climate crisis. On the path to climate neutrality, it is essential to both optimally develop and utilise the existing building stock and to establish new approaches in construction, in order to use necessary resources efficiently and make them reusable. The goal must be to protect people and the environment and to create the conditions for economically and socially sustainable development.

The University Course in Sustainable Construction is therefore dedicated to a holistic, lifecycle-oriented examination of buildings, taking into account ecological, economic, and sociocultural dimensions. It addresses current trends in the construction sector and incorporates relevant legislative requirements and framework conditions at both national and European level.

As a participant, we'll bring you up to date with the latest knowledge from research and practice, and support you in applying acquired theoretical knowledge, methods, and tools to practical questions and project work.

The university course is offered as a 4-semester master's programme (Master of Engineering) and as a 2-semester certificate course.
Both options include training as an ÖGNI Consultant (including ÖGNI Registered Professional), with the examination carried out in cooperation with ÖGNI.
