The transport sector is in the middle of several transformation processes: moving away from the combustion engine towards emission-free drives, away from car-centred towards multimodal mobility, and away from private ownership of vehicles towards increased sharing. These changes are being accelerated by digitalisation.
In 2021, the 30th VCÖ Mobility Prize is dedicated to the major changes in the transport sector and is themed "Departure in Mobility". Today, transport is the biggest contributor to climate-damaging emissions; tomorrow, transport should be the driving force for improvements on the path towards the climate target. The task is to prepare the ground today for a sustainable and socially equitable mobility of tomorrow and the day after.
Who can participate in the VCÖ Mobility Prize and with what
The VCÖ Mobility Prize is Austria's largest competition for climate-compatible mobility and sustainable freight transport and is run in cooperation with the Ministry of Climate Protection and ÖBB. Companies, start-ups, municipalities, cities and districts, research and educational institutions, associations, students, initiatives and private individuals can all take part. International projects are also welcome. Implemented projects as well as concepts and pilot projects, as well as research work to advance the mobility transition, can be submitted.
Fill in the submission form online now!
Submission deadline: 1 June 2021
All submitted projects will be evaluated by a specialist jury and thus brought to the attention of professional circles. The VCÖ regularly highlights exemplary projects through various channels (specialist publications, press work, newsletters, social media, etc.). This way, many good projects get the attention they deserve.
A professional short film will be made about the winning project, which will be available online. Complete submissions will, if desired, be presented in the VCÖ online database at www.mobilitaetsprojekte.vcoe.at for exemplary mobility projects, making them accessible to a wide audience.
Submission documents and further information are available on the VCÖ website and as a leaflet for download. Please also make those around you aware of the VCÖ Mobility Prize.
