The state of Styria, together with the Austrian network of climate research institutions – Climate Change Centre Austria CCCA – is hosting the Styrian Climate and Energy Forum for the 21st time. We warmly invite you to this online event on Monday, 16 September 2024, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
The Climate and Energy Forum opens up the dialogue on the topic: "Wishful thinking or justified hope for the future: What can CO2 storage and utilisation actually contribute to climate protection?"
• What contribution can carbon utilisation (CCU) and carbon storage (CCS) make towards achieving Austria's long-term climate goals?
• What is the focus area of these technologies and what exactly is meant by "hard to abate" emissions?
• What opportunities and challenges are associated with these technologies?
• Which technologies are already being used in practice and what financial and energy costs are involved?
• What is the current state of the legal framework in the EU and Austria regarding CCU and CCS, and how is the current Carbon Management Strategy structured?
