Wladimir Peter Köppen Prize for Climate and Earth System Sciences

The Wladimir Köppen Prize is worth a total of €5,000 and is offered by the Cluster of Excellence "Climate, Climatic Change, and Society" (CLICCS) at the University of Hamburg. It recognises outstanding doctoral dissertations by early-career researchers and was awarded for the tenth time in 2019.

Application
The prize is advertised annually for talented early-career researchers who have completed their doctorate in the German-speaking world. The dissertation may be written in German or English and should have been completed no more than two years prior to the application. Candidates should be no older than 30 at the time of completing their work.

Supervisors, professors, and group leaders may nominate candidates and submit a corresponding letter of recommendation. In addition to the letter of recommendation, we require a digital copy of the proposed doctoral thesis (as a PDF) as well as a CV for the candidate.

Due to the delayed announcement, the application deadline this time is 4 January 2021!
