How do I register someone else/submit an abstract on someone else's behalf?

If you'd like to register someone other than yourself for the Klimatag or submit an abstract on behalf of another person, please enter the personal details of that person in the online portal under "Submitting Person/Contact Person".

How can I submit a scientific contribution (talk, poster) to the Klimatag?

As in previous years, we invite you to prepare results and connections from your research activities for colleagues from your own and other fields and present them at the Klimatag. This can be done in the form of a talk or poster. Please note that an abstract must be submitted for both. The abstracts will be uniformly formatted for the conference proceedings; in the online portal you can upload the text components and figures for your abstract separately without formatting. Please note that the conference proceedings will be printed in black and white. Please design your figures accordingly.

Submissions to the Klimatag must be made via the Klimatag online portal. Using the following link you can select "Submission" and submit for either a "general scientific session" or an "ACRP poster session in the presence of the ACRP Steering Committee": LINK

The abstract must be structured into three parts as follows:

  •          Topic
  •          Method
  •          Results

A minimum of 1,000 characters must be entered in each text field. The remaining characters can be distributed across the three text fields as you see fit. For the review process, only those submissions that actually meet the required character count will be accepted. Please bear in mind that deliberately inserted line breaks will cause the remaining characters needed to fill the line to be lost. Please submit your abstract in German where possible, although abstracts in English are also accepted.

All text must be entered in plain text format. Formatting, HTML, JavaScript or non-readable/non-printable characters are not permitted. The text must not exceed 5,500 characters including spaces.

The conference proceedings will be assigned an ISBN number.

Can I submit more than one contribution?

Yes, you can submit more than one contribution. Once you've saved and sent your submission, a new window will open after the data has been successfully submitted. There you can select the "Submit another contribution" function. Using this function, your data will be copied, meaning you won't need to enter it again — you'll simply need to upload a new abstract.

Is the Klimatag only for scientists?

No, the Austrian Klimatag is a scientific conference that also offers something for an interested general public, and its aim is to provide an overview of current Austrian research activities in the areas of climate change, impacts, adaptation and mitigation. In addition to its role as a networking event for the climate research community, the Klimatag also serves as a forum for exchange and contact between all individuals and institutions with an interest in climate change. The Klimatag is open to encourage and promote dialogue, discussion and networking between scientific and non-scientific groups. Information on the programme is updated here on an ongoing basis.

How does the Klimatag aim to contribute to "climate friendly climate research"?

In 2019 we're once again striving to organise the Klimatag as a Green Meeting and make it as sustainable as possible. The Klimatag is organised to the highest environmental standards. This includes, amongst other things, climate-friendly catering, offsetting of resulting CO2 emissions, and avoiding printed materials. You can also support our efforts by choosing climate-friendly modes of transport such as train, bus or carpooling when travelling to the event.

What format must my poster meet?

Poster format: DIN A0 portrait

Participants wishing to present a poster at the Klimatag are asked, in the event that their poster submission is accepted, to print it themselves in DIN A0 portrait format and hang it in the designated area at the Klimatag. The necessary materials will be provided.

Before the Klimatag, you'll have the opportunity to upload your poster to the Klimatag website for viewing.
