Development of the CCCA "International Newsletter" Format

One of the most important tasks of the networking platform is to spread information about European/international activities in climate change research. This is done primarily via the newsletter, through which information is sent to over 1,300 people in Austria. Since June 2020, the "International Newsletter" format has also been available to better distinguish between the two, bringing targeted information to newsletter subscribers. Through the networking platform, information about international events, calls for proposals, and opportunities for participation is sent out via the CCCA newsletter.

Here you can sign up for the "International Newsletter"!

Calls for Participation in International Formats

Another core task of the networking platform is to position Austrian researchers well at the international level, raise their visibility, and give them access to committees, consortia, and collaboration opportunities. At the same time, this allows experts to actively contribute their areas of focus to an international field and expand their own networks. For this reason, the networking platform regularly puts out calls for participation in international projects and formats.

Expert Nominations

In close collaboration with the service centre, the networking platform provides advice and support for the nomination of experts for international bodies or committees and as speakers for events.

Incorporating the International Perspective into CCCA Products

The networking platform ensures that the international dimension is present in CCCA products, thereby preventing parallel activities at the international and national levels. For example, the networking platform is currently involved in the APCC Special Report Land Use, Land Management and Climate Change (SR21).

Support in Accessing International Calls for Proposals

For international calls for proposals, the networking platform seeks to support the Austrian research community by, in consultation with the service centre, facilitating contacts with project consortia and proactively reaching out to individual researchers, as well as supporting them in their involvement in calls for proposals.

Transnational Connectivity

The Austrian CCCA is internationally recognised as a model for bringing together research networks in climate change research. The networking platform supports links between international research networks and CCCA, with the aim of raising its visibility at the international level as well.
