CCCA Experts at the Striking Classroom

On the day of the first global climate strike, it wasn't just hundreds of young people marching through Graz that morning. In front of the Akademisches Gymnasium in Graz's city centre, a "Public School Lesson" on the current movements took place for all Year 12 classes. The teachers in this case were the two climate researchers Gottfried Kirchengast and Karl Steininger from the Wegener Center.

After the scientists outlined the latest research findings and the need for improved climate and energy policy, the students had the chance to ask questions and got answers straight from the source. Quite a successful lesson of a different kind!

Alongside Graz, similar school lessons with CCCA scientists are also taking place in Vienna, Linz, and Salzburg.
