The pop-up exhibition "Finding Threads – Suitcase Interaction of Art and Science" is the result of the CCCA project Climate, Art and Science – Active Together! as part of the course Sustainability Challenge 2023/24. It explored:
"Climate? Health? Production? - Reflection and a shift in perspective on clothing, consumption and the body, made tangible through photographs, installations, scientific posters and objects."
The five students Thomas Bittmann, Sarah Silaban Fülöp, Lilli Gschwandtner, Leon Kusztrich and Alisa Matern, coming from very different fields of study (Environmental Engineering, TU Wien; Global Change and Sustainability, University of Vienna; Political Science, University of Vienna; Visual Communication, University of Art and Design Linz; Fine Arts, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna), each engage with climate and sustainability in their own distinct ways and share a keen interest in interdisciplinary exchange. This brought them to the Sustainability Challenge, where they explored the interplay between art and science together with CCCA (as part of UniNEtZ SDG 13).
The pop-up exhibition took place from 9–11 May 2024 as part of the first Vienna Climate Biennale at the festival grounds on Nordwestbahnstraße (1020 Vienna) and was also presented at the SC 2023/24 Touchdown event.
What makes the exhibition special is that the entire show can be packed into two suitcases, making it easy to transport. Here's a little glimpse into the diverse exhibition.
