The 25th Klimatag takes place from Wednesday, 23 April 2025 to Friday, 25 April 2025 at the University of Innsbruck.
The conference is held in German. Presentations in the scientific sessions as well as poster talks during coffee and lunch breaks can, if needed, be given in English. Please let us know at klimatag@ccca.ac.at if you'd like to give your presentation in English. We need this information for the briefing of the session chairs.
In addition, the ACRP quality assurance session is held entirely in English.
The call for abstracts for the general scientific sessions and for the CCCA Early Career Award has been closed since Friday, 25 October 2024 (11 pm). For ACRP projects selected for the 2025 ACRP quality assurance, the call for abstracts has also been closed since Friday, 6 December 2024 (11 pm).
The Austrian Klimatag places a special focus on cooperation and dialogue with stakeholders from politics, public administration, and research funding. In addition to serving as an interdisciplinary networking event for the climate research community, the Klimatag also provides an opportunity for exchange with business representatives, practitioners, and the interested public.
The aim is to organise the Klimatag to the highest environmental standards. This includes, amongst other things, climate-friendly catering, offsetting of CO2 emissions generated, and avoiding printed materials. You can also support our efforts by choosing low-carbon modes of transport such as train, bus, or carpooling when travelling to the event. Information on how to get there in a climate-friendly way can be found here.
Yes, photos and/or videos of participants will be taken during the Klimatag for documentation purposes. If you have any feedback or questions about this, please get in touch with us at klimatag@ccca.ac.at.
The Klimatag has grown into CCCA's central networking event and is very well received. Networking and exchange in a relaxed atmosphere are a key aspect, and good food and drink are also an important part of the experience. However, this also requires adequate funding to ensure the corresponding quality.
Due to rising costs in recent years, which have also affected the Klimatag, the participation fee for the Klimatag 2025 will be increased to €120. A reduced fee of €70 applies for students. The Klimatag thus remains one of the more affordable scientific conferences at the national level, and this measure helps CCCA maintain the quality of the event.
We hope for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you at the Klimatag!
Further details on the programme can be found here. Changes to the programme are subject to revision, as it is continuously being updated for you.
Registration is open from Thursday, 6 March 2025 until Wednesday, 9 April 2025 (2 pm). Please register within this period so that we can prepare the conference materials in good time before the Easter holidays. Click here to register. Late registrations after 9 April are not possible.
Please note: Cancellations including a refund of the fee are possible until Thursday, 10 April 2025 (2 pm) by emailing klimatag@ccca.ac.at. After this date, the participation fee will be charged.
Yes, presenters & poster presenters are also asked to register for the Klimatag via the online portal.

This year, for the first time, posters have been assigned to thematic blocks rather than scientific sessions as in previous years. This is intended to make it easier to navigate the event on-site. Posters will continue to be introduced briefly by the session chairs in a scientific session.
In addition, Poster Talks will take place during the coffee and lunch breaks. During these Poster Talks, interested participants can ask questions about your poster. There will be dedicated time slots for this, so you'll also have time to enjoy the breaks and have a look at other posters.
To give the posters additional visibility, we'll be making them available to view on the website ahead of the Klimatag, provided we've received the go-ahead from the project leads.

The Klima- und Energiefonds sent a message directly to the selected project leaders with information about their selection to present as part of the ACRP quality assurance.
Selected project leaders of sufficiently advanced ACRP projects are required to present their project results to the ACRP Steering Committee at the Klimatag. This will take place within the ACRP Session. The selected project leaders are asked to give an overview of their ACRP project in the form of a talk. The ACRP Sessions will be held in English.
The aim of the ACRP Sessions is to carry out the ACRP quality assurance by the ACRP Steering Committee in a compact format.
In the "general scientific sessions", researchers from all subject areas and disciplines with connections to the topic of climate change and transformation have the opportunity to submit talks and poster contributions for presentation at the Klimatag. These contributions were, as in previous years, reviewed by thematically appropriate reviewers and compiled into a programme by the Klimatag programme committee.
The ACRP Sessions host the annual quality assurance for the Austrian Climate Research Programme. Selected ACRP projects present before the ACRP Steering Committee. The ACRP project leaders whose projects are involved were separately invited by the Klima- und Energiefonds to present their project at the Klimatag.
The CCCA Poster Prize, including the award ceremony, is once again a fixed part of this year's conference. 1st place is worth 500 euros. 2nd and 3rd place will also each receive a prize.
During the Klimatag, participants have the opportunity to rate the posters on display. A jury then awards the Poster Prize based on these ratings. The jury reviews the highest-rated posters from the audience once more and selects the 3 posters that best meet the criteria. Prizes are only awarded to posters whose authors are represented by at least one person at the award ceremony. The award ceremony will take place on Fri, 25 April 2025 as part of Session V "People and Climate" from 11:00 to 12:15.
The poster must meet the following criteria:
With the Early Career Researcher Prize, CCCA aims to spotlight and recognise the scientific achievements of young researchers. Submissions take the form of a scientific publication, which is evaluated by renowned scientists. The Early Career Researcher Prize is awarded each year at the Klimatag. The winner will present the scientific publication submitted for the prize as a talk in one of the scientific sessions at the Klimatag and will receive a prize money of 1,000 euros. This year, the programme committee decided to select two winners, as both submissions were of outstanding quality. The prize money therefore amounts to 500 euros per winner. All other research projects have the opportunity to be presented as posters during the lunch and coffee breaks.
All submissions for the CCCA Early Career Researcher Prize were assessed by 2 suitably qualified reviewers. The Klimatag programme committee selected the winner(s) based on the reviewers' evaluations. All submitters received written feedback on their submitted paper.
Details on the CCCA Early Career Researcher Prize can be found here.
