The information event took place as a workshop on 1 July 2016 in the theatre hall of the ÖAW, organised by CCCA and the Commission for Climate and Air Quality of the ÖAW. The aim of the workshop was to inform all interested parties about the IPCC, its structure and working methods, as well as the steps and tasks involved in the 6th reporting cycle. Presentations outlined the possible roles in the scoping meetings and the writing processes of the special reports and the working group reports of the 6th IPCC assessment report, along with their respective requirements. Alongside some really interesting contributions from Klaus Radunsky (Umweltbundesamt), Manfred Ogris (BMLFUW, IPCC National Focal Point), Keywan Riahi (IIASA), Andreas Fischlin (ETH Zürich, IPCC Co-Chair) and Georg Kaser (Uni Innsbruck), thematic discussion groups were held in the afternoon. The lively small-group discussions focused on the potential of the Austrian research landscape with regard to the timely delivery of IPCC-relevant scientific contributions.
The presentations of the speakers, as well as the results of the working groups, will be published here on an ongoing basis:
