In 2019, Lower Austria recorded a mean temperature of 10.8 °C, making it the second warmest year in the history of measurements, just behind the warmest year 2018 (mean temperature also 10.8 °C) and ahead of what is now the third warmest year, 2015, with a mean temperature of 10.6 °C. With an average precipitation of 680 mm, rainfall was 65 mm below the 1961–1990 mean. At 1,923 hours, sunshine duration was 256 hours above the long-term average.
