The APCC Special Report on Land Use and Climate Change summarises and evaluates the current state of knowledge on the topic of land use and climate change. The focus is on scientific findings obtained from Austrian research projects that relate to Austria. Where necessary, international sources were also drawn upon.
A multi-year open process was pursued in order to involve the scientific community in the field of land systems research as broadly as possible and to take into account key questions relevant to practice and policy. Active and broad stakeholder engagement was also sought throughout this process. Interested citizens and stakeholders from ministries, federal states, NGOs, and interest groups were invited to read and comment on the report. Direct exchange between authors and stakeholders was facilitated through two workshops.
This project was funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and carried out as part of the "11th Call Austrian Climate Research Programme – ACRP" programme.
The APCC Special Report on Land Use and Climate Change in Austria was completed in April 2024 and is available here as a free download. Also available to purchase from bookshops.
