Climate Review Vienna 2023

The year 2023 was the warmest year in Vienna's measurement history. Five months ranked in the top 5, with September and October each being the warmest on record. As a result, the entire meteorological autumn of 2023 was also the warmest autumn in measurement history. Overall, four heatwaves occurred in Vienna between June and September. The heatwaves in July and August lasted an unusually long time, at 18 and 17 days respectively. Vienna's total precipitation in 2023 was 23% above the climatological mean, making it the highest since 2010.
