The State of Styria invites you to an ONLINE IDEAS WORKSHOP as part of the 21st Climate Day on 13 April 2021 from 13:00 to 16:00. Experts and multipliers from practice will have the opportunity to discuss the following questions together with Prof. Helmut Jungwirth (University of Graz; ensemble member of the Science Busters), Dr. Sybille Chiari (Sustainability & Climate Communication at Werner Lampert GmbH) and Katharina Toth, MSc (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences):

  • How can different target groups be motivated and activated to take climate-friendly action?
  • What new insights from science communication and transdisciplinary climate research can help practitioners bridge the gap from knowledge to action?
  • What new ideas emerge from the creative dialogue between science and practice?

In interactive formats, participants will discuss new approaches and ideas for the (further) development of measures and programmes.

Due to limited capacity, the workshop is by invitation only.

14:00 – 17:00     CCCA Workshop for Early-Career Researchers I Moderation: Thomas Schinko, IIASA & CCCA Early-Career Working Group

back to overview

At the 20th Climate Day, the CCCA Early-Career Workshop explored the question of what career prospects look like for young researchers and what such a career might involve in practice. This year, very much in the spirit of the Climate Day motto "Clash of cultures? Climate research meets industry", we want to focus on career options for researchers in the fields of climate (change) and sustainability in the private sector. To this end, we're inviting Rainer Ammer (voestalpine Stahl GmbH) and Johannes Naimer-Stach (Climate-KIC) to outline the available options and share their own career paths, and to discuss these with participants. The aim is to show CCCA early-career researchers the options available for their own professional futures — beyond academia. In addition, Lil Reif (FFG) will give us an overview of current research funding opportunities for early-career researchers.
