Climate Review Vorarlberg 2024

2024 was the warmest year in Vorarlberg's recorded history, with a mean temperature of 7.1 °C (deviation +2.7 °C), surpassing the previously warmest year of 2022 by 0.1 °C. February was by far the warmest on record, while August ranked 2nd with a deviation of +4.5 °C. Overall, 6 months achieved top 10 rankings. Heavy rainfall at the end of May and beginning of June led to flooding and landslides in many parts of Vorarlberg. Thunderstorms triggered by the summer heat were responsible for numerous storm damage events. In 2024, sunshine hours were in some cases notably below the respective monthly average, particularly in June, September, and October.
